Are you disappointed about not being one of the select few chosen to attend the SDO Tweetups and will miss all the fun and excitement? Have no fear, Astronomy.FM is here!

Astronomy.FM wishes to invite all Space Tweeps to attend its Virtual SDO Launch Tweetup! The goal is to offer a venue for anyone who wants to participate, but is unable to get to one of the many Regional SDO Launch Tweetup locations. NASA has indicated that, to their knowledge, Astronomy.FM is the "first" to hold a virtual Tweetup; and they have forwarded material to enable an exceptional online experience. Although virtual, our Tweetup will be much like traditional ones and will include:

There have been a lot of plans flying around on Twitter so I thought we should have somewhere to consolidate them and make sure everyone is in the know and has something to refer back to as the date nears.  Let us know what your travel plans are and, if you are local, maybe you can help the rest of us make plans for activities around the tweetup itself or answer any questions us travelers may have.

As of now, the launch is scheduled for Feb. 9th and a few people have mentioned going to MD early to tour DC a bit.  Personally, I am planning to arrive on the 7th and have been talking to some people about having a pre-tweetup day at the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum on Monday the 8th.  If the launch moves to the 8th, we can just swap dates and hit the museum on the 9th.  Let me know either here or on Twitter if you are interested in joining the group and I will keep a list.
